MHA Support Groups

* Please Note: Due to space limitations and safety concerns, we ask that groups of three people or more planning to attend to call the MHA office in advance at (336) 768-3880 to make arrangements.*

If you are a college/university student who needs to observe one of our support groups as part of a class assignment,

you must call and receive prior approval from

How do you join our support groups?

Just show up!  All are welcome !

While support groups are not intended to replace individual or group therapy, support groups play a vital role in one’s recovery by:

* Sharing common concerns
* Learning new information
* Exchanging new information
* Developing appropriate coping skills
* Developing natural support systems

The Schizophrenia/Schizo-affective Disorders Support Group

The Schizophrenia/Schizo-affective Disorders Support Group meets in person every second and fourth Thursday from 2:30 to 4:00 pm at the Mental Health Association in Forsyth County, 1509 S. Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, NC.

This is a support group for adults living with schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder.

Tides

Tides Mood Disorders Support Group

The TIDES Mood Disorders Support Group will begin meeting in-person every first, third and, (when applicable), fifth Tuesday evenings of each month
at 7:00 pm at the Mental Health Association in Forsyth County, 1509 S. Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, NC.
The TIDES Mood Disorders Support Group is for adults living with depression, bi-polar or other mood disorders  7:00 to 8:30 pm.
This support group is also applicable for adults with live with both mood and anxiety disorders.
In the event of inclement weather and/or COVID outbreak, the support group will revert to temporarily meeting online.

Anxiety Disorders

ANXIETY DISORDERS SUPPORT GROUP

The Anxiety Disorders Support Group will begin meeting in person every second and fourth Thursday evenings of each month at 7:00 pm at the Mental Health Association in Forsyth County, 1509 S. Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, NC.

The Anxiety Support Group is for adults living with anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and all other anxiety disorders.

This support group is also applicable for adults who live with both anxiety and mood disorders, such as depression.

In the event of inclement weather and/or COVID outbreak, the support group will revert to temporarily meeting online.

The Friday Morning Support Group meets online

every Friday morning from 10:30 am to Noon.

This support group is for any adult living with any mental health disorder.
