In addition to providing all of the administrative, business functions, necessary for any non-profit, Andy provides direct services including facilitating support groups, educational trainings, speaker meetings, advocacy services through Mental Health Court and other venues and works with clients and families with more intensive needs. Andy was awarded the “Steve Jordan Award” on October 5, 2013 for his long-time work in providing innovative services on behalf of those with mental illness during the annual conference of NAMI-North Carolina.

Susan does follow-ups on all our Information and Referral calls; making sure the MHA is meeting the needs of our community. She contacts new and existing Support Group members letting them know their importance to the MHA. Susan also does community outreach at Novant Behavior Health’s outpatient program. Susan is passionate about helping others with mental health illness and strives to share the compassion she has felt herself at the MHA.
